Mi sembra più un tentativo di dare credibilità alle voci di cui si è chiacchierato fino ad oggi.

Sia come sia, secondo me il 6 gennaio Jobs annuncerà l’abbandono. E Apple cambierà stile e marketing.

Sia chiaro: la butto lì, e la volta scorsa avevo sbagliato. Questa volta vado quasi sul sicuro se dico iMac e Snow Leopard?

Steve Dowling, an Apple spokesman, deflected any questions about Jobs’ health. When asked if Jobs canceled because of illness, Dowling said, “Phil is giving the keynote because this is Apple’s last year in the show, and it doesn’t make sense for us to make a major investment in a trade show we will no longer be attending.” Asked again about Jobs’ health, Dowling gave a similar answer, never using the word Jobs or anything related to his condition.

Si da il caso che, poche ore fa, Apple abbia annunciato che sul palco non ci sarà Steve Jobs ma Phil Schiller. E che questo sarà l’ultimo keynote di Apple al Macworld, e l’ultima volta che Apple sarà al Macworld.

L’ultima volta che Apple se ne era andata dal Macworld, quello di NY, quella edizione della fiera ha chiuso i battenti.

Il centro del discorso è, e resta, perché Jobs non sarà su quel palco.

Diciamo che la coincidenza di me che varco l’Atlantico e Jobs che non c’è è davvero incredibile: giornalisticamente è intrigante, umanamente meno, egoisticamente irritante.

Credo scriverò qualcosa per il numero di domani (oggi) di PI.

In un certo senso, forse oggi sta cambiando la storia dell’IT, e vista l’importanza che riveste il settore per l’economia mondiale direi che con l’uscita di scena di Jobs – a questo punto ipotizzabile – cambieranno molte altre cose.

Well, I’m stunned. My phone just rang and I picked up and it was Jerry Yang. He goes, “It’s Jerry Yang. You think I’m an inept nerd who doesn’t know how to run a company, and I think you’re sleazier than a used condom. Got a minute to chat?” He went on to say that he was calling to address a few things that have been written about him in the press lately in particular about the way he handled Microsoft’s bid to acquire Yahoo. Jerry said he wanted to tell me some things about the Yahoo-Microsoft negotiations, and he wanted me to print these things, but he would only talk to me off the record. I said okay. Now, I can’t tell you what Jerry told me, but let’s just say that I didn’t hear anything that contradicts earlier reports about the failed Microsoft-Yahoo deal, and from what I’ve been told, by a source whose identity I can’t reveal but who is very, very, veryclose to Yahoo, it appears pretty unlikely that Yahoo will be sold to Microsoft at any time in the near future. I’ve also been told, by a very reliable source, that Jerry Yang does not have cancer of any kind at this time, but he does have a little problem with acid reflux, though it’s nothing to worry about.
